Report from ' Cliff's Chart Site '
Aug 27: Last night a whole load of Cliff and Shadows fans went along to The Whitminster, Gloucester to see Shadows tribute band Bungleflint. They were playing in a large marquee and it was a trip back in time to have scampi/sausage/chicken and chips in the basket. They came on at 8.30pm and went through Shadows favourites and more interstingly, some album tracks from the Shads first albums. Throughout the evening every time Cliff was mentioned there, there were loud cheers from us. They played: Chattanooga choo-choo, Shazam, Atlantis, Foot tapper, Peace pipe, Dance on, Fandango, Living doll, Travellin' light, Time drags by (singing and swaying along to these), Theme for young lovers, Cavatina, Little B, Don't cry for me Argentina, Apache. After a break they are back with Burns guitars for: Main theme, It's a mad world, The rise and fall of Flingle Bunt, Albatross, Riders in the sky, Move it, The young ones, The frightened city, Spring is nearly here, The breeze and I, All shook up, A little bitty tear, Oh boy (up and dancing now), Bye bye love, Shadoogie, Kon-tiki, Wonderful land, FBI, Cavatina (again) and finished with Apache (we're all on the dance floor to do the Shadows walk).
The evening's entertainment ended at 11.30pm and everyone enjoyed the group's performance. If you get the chance to see Bungleflint on stage near you, then go along and be sure of an excellent Shadows and Cliff packed show.
